Skiing Lessons & Associations

Learning is fun. Most falls are painless and soft because you're landing on snow. Falling and rolling around in the snow are half the fun. Ski lessons are recommended. Most mountains offer beginner packages that include lesson, equipment and lift ticket. The rental equipment will include ski boots, skis with bindings and ski poles. The beginner ski slopes are sometimes separated from the main ski trials, so your package lift ticket may not be for the full mountain. By the second day, if not sooner, you'll be ready to try some of the main ski trails. When looking into ski packages, make sure you get access to all the trails you want to use.

The best option is to learn with a buddy. The two of you will spend the day laughing. Don't delay if a friend can't be roped in though. There will be plenty of camaraderie in the class. Once you get to the mountain, there always seems to be someone around to ski with. You'll meet people on the lifts and in the lodge. Also, check out local ski clubs. They're always a great way to meet other skiers.
